WELBECK SET FOR BRIGHTON RETURN

England striker Danny Welbeck is on course to make a return to the Brighton and Hove Albion squad before the end of this month. Danny Welbeck has missed the last three months of football due to a thigh injury sustained during the 2-1 league win over Leicester City at the Amex Stadium.

Danny Welbeck has not played for the Seagulls since the Leicester City game in September. Since his injury, the Seagulls have not won a game in the Premier League as they continue to struggle for goals. Brighton boss Graham Potter would be delighted to have Danny Welbeck back potentially for the festive games. The return of Welbeck to full fitness would go a long way toease the goalscoring burden on fellow striker Neal Maupay who has scored the last two Brighton goals in the English top flight.

On Welbeck, Brighton boss Graham Potter gave an update on his injury status in his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the away game against Wolves on Wednesday night. Ex-Swansea City boss Potter said that the Wolves game comes too soon for the former Arsenal, Manchester United and Sunderland player. According to him, Danny Welbeck is making good in his bid to recover from the thigh injury that has plagued him over the past months.

Brighton were not in action on the Premier League scene at the weekend after the Coronavirus outbreak at North London side Tottenham Hotspur. The virus outbreak at Spurs prompted the postponement of the league encounter between Brighton and Spurs which was originally scheduled to take place at the Amex Stadium on Sunday. The Seagulls will return to Premier League action when they take on Wolves at their Amex Stadium match venue on Wednesday night. The Seagulls take on a Wolves team who have lost their last two league games.
